I packed my bags, said goodbye to New York, and boarded a flight to Alaska—completely on my own. I was terrified and thrilled all at once. I had no idea what to expect, only that something inside me knew I had to go.

That trip changed everything.

Standing beneath endless skies, surrounded by mountains and silence and wild beauty, I felt something shift. I realized how vast the world is—and how small we really are in the best, most humbling way.

Just a year before, I couldn’t have imagined doing something like this. But Alaska showed me what I’m capable of. It gave me confidence, clarity, and a deep sense of awe I still carry with me.

The world is so much bigger and more beautiful than I ever knew. And I’m so glad I took that leap.

Each of these photographs were taken using a Pentax645 on Kodak Gold 200 120film.
